NCH On Our Sleeves - Managing Mood + Depression

Join our monthly "Mental Health Matters" chats on a variety of topics related to mental health.

This month Dr. Ujjwal Ramtekkar* from the On Our Sleeves team at Nationwide Children's Hospital will talk about how depression + mood stabilization can show-up in, and have an impact on, our youth as well as some cognitive and behavioral interventions to support growth + progress in these areas.

May's discussion "Managing Mood + Depression" will look at common mood stabilization challenges our youth face as well as the different ways depression can manifest and present itself. Additionally, Dr. Ramtekker will discuss cognitive and behavioral interventions to foster support in those areas.

*Dr. Ujjwal Ramtekkar Ujjwal Ramtekkar, MD, MPE, MBA, joined the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at Nationwide Children's Hospital and Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at The Ohio State University. Dr. Ramtekkar completed his medical education at Government Medical College and Super Specialty Hospital in Nagpur, India. He completed a Master of Psychiatric Epidemiology (MPE) at Washington University, Saint Louis, where he also completed his Psychiatry residency.

We're excited to offer this program on our outdoor patio in the fresh air and think it will be lovely in late April! However, in the event of inclement weather (such as rain or significantly cold temperatures), we may move the program indoors or cancel. Weather decisions will be made on the afternoon of the program.

Some important notes about COVID-precautions/safe social distancing:
-The number of participants will be limited.
-Individual spaces will be preset from each other.
- Attendees must wear a mask upon arrival and departure. Once you've settled into your spot, then you may remove your mask.
-The Philip Heit Center is equipped with an HVAC system that meets the strict complaints standards for air flow and filtration required by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
- Lastly, if you are showing any symptoms of sickness, please stay home.
