Music Together:
Music is fundamental to the human experience and there are a variety of studies which indicate ways that music can enhance our health, so Healthy New Albany offers the "Music Together®" program, as it provides another opportunity to cultivate and inspire healthy living in our community.

Program Description:
Our weekly 45-minute Mixed age Family Music Together classes (ages birth to 6 years with a caregiver) include songs, rhythmic chants, movement, instrument play, and of course lots of fun! These activities are presented as informal, non-performance-oriented musical experiences developmentally appropriate for children and easy for caregivers regardless of their own musical ability. A CD, an MP3 downloadable version of the song collection, a songbook, a new family music development booklet, a Music Together growth chart, access to the Music Together Family Music Zone, and the Hello Everybody app are included! Each week, a trained Music Together instructor leads the class in singing, dancing, and playing songs that range from tender lullabies to boisterous jams using child-friendly percussion instruments. Our award-winning music, illustrated songbook, and other print and online resources will help you continue the music-making fun at home and nurture your child's musical growth -- even if you don't think of yourself as a great singer or dancer. Like parenting, making music requires no previous experience or expertise, just willingness to get down on the floor and silly with your child!

About the Instructor:
Nicole White comes from a long line of teachers that not only value education but believe ALL children can learn. She has a B.S. in elementary education and a M.Ed. in Reading education. Nicole holds special certifications in reading and working with dyslexic students and has worked with students from preschool through the university setting. She enjoys combining her love of music with her passion for education to create an inviting musical learning environment for your family!
