"Staying Safe in a Digital World"

Program Description:
Technology is a big part of our lives, and from social media to gaming, technology use has increased over the past four years. This interactive workshop will examine how youth use technology in friendships and relationships, how adults can support healthy digital boundaries with youth, and how online safety is a developmental process. Participants will receive practical resources to support healthy digital boundaries as well as healthy relationships for youth.

When:
• Thursday August 29th | 6:00 - 7:00pm

Where:
• Philip Heit Center (150 W. Main St, New Albany, OH)
• Meeting Room on the 1st Floor
• The parking lot and main entrance are located behind the building

• Free to attend, but please register online since space is limited.

*About the Instructors from The Center for Family Safety and Healing:
Mackenzie Lyon is a Training Coordinator with over 5 years of experience providing prevention and education with children and families. Previously, she provided direct support to survivors of domestic violence and families affected by child maltreatment. She has a passion for the empowerment and improvement of mental health and healthy relationships of young adult survivors of abuse and in the LGBTQ+ community through direct client interaction and systems change.

Valeda Smith is a Training Coordinator with over 10 years of experience youth and families. She is a graduate of Wittenberg University with a major in Sociology. Currently she partners with K-12 schools as well as non-profit organizations to provide prevention education on child abuse, teen dating violence, and intimate partner violence. In addition, she is an authorized facilitator of Stewards of Children by Darkness to Light.

Caitlin Tully is a Training Supervisor with over 10 years of experience addressing teen dating violence, digital dating abuse, and trauma. She currently partners with K-12 schools as well as non-profit organizations to provide prevention education on child abuse, teen dating violence, and intimate partner violence. In addition, she is certified in Trauma-Responsive Care through the Tri-State Trauma Network.
