Nourish Jr. - Nourish Jr.: Sandwich King, Sandwich Queen!

Program Description:
In this class, young chefs will learn how to make fun and delicious sandwiches - great for snacks, packing lunch, amping it up for a full on meal. We’ll start with a classic grilled cheese, mastering the golden, crispy crust and gooey cheese filling and make it your own with some yummy add-in ingredients (shhh - they will have the option to sneak in some veg). Next we’ll stuff a vegetarian wrap with creamy spreads and great flavor, and then another classic . . . the patty melt, a juicy burger patty with soft skillet cooked onions, melty cheese and an optional special burger sauce.

About the Instructor:
Sharon Dunn, HNA Nourish Program Coordinator, earned her Baking and Pastry degree at Columbus State and worked for the Cameron Mitchell Restaurant Group for eight years as a baker, prep cook, and line cook. Sharon and her family are New Albany residents and she has been involved in the Healthy New Albany community through the Farmers Market and now with Nourish, the community cooking education program.

Special Instructions:

If children are walking to the class after school, they can gather in lobby until the class begins at 3:30.

Attendees are invited to bring a take-home container in case there are any leftovers from class.
