Adult - Outdoor Chair Yoga

Come move through a variety of gentle yoga poses, all based out of a chair! These seated and standing poses use the support of a chair to improve balance, flexibility, and strength. This class also includes breathing practices to encourage relaxation and mindfulness. Chair Yoga is a gentle class and suitable for adults of any age or fitness level.

Some important notes:
- This is an outdoor program, located on the brick/concrete patio (next to the Philip Heit Center). We will monitor weather conditions and make an official announcement (via email) every morning if class is a go, or if it has to be cancelled that day.
- We will provide a chair (which will be disinfected shortly before class), but attendees must bring their own yoga mats and any other props they would like to use (we will not be providing shared props). Some props that can be very helpful are a yoga block and/or yoga strap, however no props are required to enjoy this class. If you would like to bring props - you may purchase them from any store/supplier. Or if you find it easier for us to purchase props on your behalf, you may choose the optional add-on fee when you register and we will order any props you would like for you!
- Please wear a mask/face covering while entering and exiting the patio. Once you’ve settled into your chair for the class, masks may be removed.
- If participants are unable to place their own yoga mat on the ground and/or physically move a chair onto their mat - our instructor will be available to assist you.
- Participants will be spread out to ensure safe social distancing.
We ask that attendees not arrive until 10 minutes prior to the class start time (per official Ohio Re-Opening guidelines)
- To help take care of each other - if you are showing any symptoms of sickness, please stay home.

About the instructor:
Jane Rabe has been practicing and studying yoga for over 20 years. In 2015 she decided to make it official and received her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (200RYT) training from Yoga On High. Since then she has also received her 200 meditation teacher training and is a Reiki level 2 provider and a certified breath coach. Jane believes yoga is for everyone and extends way beyond just the physical.

Note:

We are piloting a new registration format!! Instead of signing up to attend the multi-week series of classes, we are now offering different packages of “passes”. You may attend classes on any week of your choosing for however many passes you purchase.

For example - we will offer Outdoor Chair Yoga every Tuesday at 9:15am from July - September (13 possible weeks in total). If you purchase a 4-sessions pass, you may attend any 4 sessions of your choosing throughout those 13 weeks. You simply need to sign-in when you arrive so we know you’re attending.

Pass options:
8-sessions pass for $80 total
4-sessions pass for $50 total
Single-session pass for $15
(You may also combine passes! For example, if you think 6-weeks is right for you, then purchase one 4-sessions pass and two single-Session passes)

You may purchase passes anytime throughout the 13 possible weeks, so you can always add on additional passes after you’ve used yours (unless we hit a maximum number of participants that can safely fit on our patio - at which point registration would close).

Please note that in the case of inclement weather, we may cancel a session. No refunds will be given for weather cancellations, since you may choose to attend a different session instead. Since multiple weeks may be canceled due to weather, we recommend only purchasing a maximum of 8 sessions.

1. Resides within the New Albany city limits
2. Is over the age of 55
